Recognised Mediator Accrediting Bodies

National Mediator Accreditation Standards (NMAS) for the accreditation of Australian mediators has been voluntarily introduced.  These are are set by the Mediator Standards Board.

Various organisations, termed Recognised Mediator Accreditation Bodies (RMABs) are appointed to assess and accredit mediators. The RMABs are major Australian dispute resolution organisations.

RMABs have been given the task of qualifying and attesting to the skill of their members as part of a National Mediator Accreditation System. Those individuals who have been trained, and whose skills have been attested to by an RMAB are entitled to used the description Accredited Mediator NMAS.
