I have specialised in working with couples for 22 years in my capacity as a Marriage and Family Therapist. For the most part I have been helping couples reconnect their intimacy after varying periods of frustration and pain. Wanting to expand on how I may continue to help couples, I also offer Family Dispute Resolution as a trained practitioner registered with the Attorney General’s Department. During the process of Family Dispute Resolution I take a child focused approach and where appropriate engage a child consultant for Child Inclusive practice. I am also a qualified Child Consultant. In the course of facilitating FDR, I endeavour to foster the reflective capacity of the parties as caring and loving parents as distinct from litigants who are unable to move beyond their grievances and at times, a great deal of residual pain and resentment. Using this approach, I have facilitated many parties to reach agreement on a successful Parenting Plan taking the children’s best interests into account and that each party is willing and able to accommodate.
